All Bran Cake

Today's guest post comes from my Gran. This looks like the perfect recipe to make when you open your cupboards and all you find is cereal and dried fruit! 



Here is the recipe for All Bran Cake - it is sooooo easy to make and tastes very delicious! 


Ingredients:
1 cup All Bran
1 cup soft brown sugar
1 cup dried mixed fruit
1 cup milk ( I used semi-skimmed)
1 cup self-raising flour
 
Method:
1. Place All Bran, sugar, dried fruit and milk in a bowl
2. Leave to soak for 2 hours
3. Stir in flour
4. Spoon mixture into a greased/lined 1lb loaf tin
5. Bake in oven at 160°C for 1 hour.
 

A slice goes very well with a bit of cheese and a nice cup of tea!


That sounds like the perfect thing to have on a Saturday afternoon. This tasty cake gives me an excellent excuse to visit my Gran!
